Each cherry (drupe) comes with a pit consisting of two beans. Some of these pits, however, are special ones: they are not split, and consist of a single sphere instead. Hence the name “pearl” or “caracolillo”. Peaberry coffee is a natural defect that becomes a rarity.
The spherical shape of the caracolillo bean allows for a more uniform roasting, giving a fresher taste, pronounced acidity, and a more intense and elegant aroma. The very limited availability makes this product a rare coffee.

Raquel Giron Rosales is the owner of Finca Raquel Montefresco, a reserve where you can admire water springs and streams that flow through the entire property, over 200 species of exotic birds, such as parrots and toucans, and various types of plants, including cedar and mahogany.
Raquel received this Finca as a gift in 2015, as part of her father’s inheritance, and decided to implement proper maintenance and innovation processes to achieve an organic farm. Raquel’s love and passion for coffee were born and grew within this Finca.
